Finding Healing Support: Spring Grove Grief Resources

At Spring Grove, our caring staff members know the difficulty of losing a loved one. We help families across Hamilton County navigate the grief process following a funeral. This type of support is crucial in the weeks and months following a service. We offer a variety of grief resources, from in-person support groups to written materials to organized release ceremonies. Wherever you are in your grief journey, our caring staff members are here to help you cope with the loss of a loved one.

In-Person Grief Support Groups

One of the most helpful things you can do while grieving is to join an in-person support group. Spending consistent time with those who are mourning a similar loss can be a healing experience. We can connect you with support groups made up of grieving men, grieving parents and grandparents, those who have lost a loved one to suicide, or grieving children and siblings. We believe in the healing power of togetherness and will help connect you with a support group that meets your unique needs. On the third Tuesday of every month, we host our Grief to Peace gathering at Spring Grove Funeral Home. Our Tri-County location hosts a Men in Grief group on the fourth Tuesday of every month. Each of these meetings starts at 6 p.m. and can be attended virtually if necessary.

Written Grief Materials

Written grief resources allow families to find helpful grief information at their own pace and from the comfort of home. We offer Healing Help pamphlets to provide consolation and guidance to families grieving a loss. Our grief lending library contains grief-focused books for children, adolescents, and adults facing various types of loss.

Lantern Lighting Ceremony on Sept. 7

Each year, our funeral home hosts a beautiful outdoor Lantern Lighting Ceremony held on the grounds of our historical cemetery. This year’s ceremony is scheduled for September 7 from 5-7:30 p.m. Our family-friendly remembrance event is designed to help our neighbors honor the loved ones they’ve lost. Participants can enjoy live music from the Pete Wagner Orchestra while sharing memories of the loved ones they’ve lost. We’ll have specially designed paper lanterns available that families can personalize with meaningful inscriptions and drawings to honor their loved ones. At dusk, the lanterns are lit and set upon the water to carry messages of hope and remembrance into the world. The cemetery does not provide seating, so be sure to bring lawn chairs and/or blankets to the event.

If you have recently lost a loved one and require grief support, please contact our compassionate staff members. We are always ready to connect you with the healing support you seek.
