About the Heritage Foundation
Since its founding 150 years ago, Spring Grove Cemetery & Arboretum has been an important part of Cincinnati's heritage. It serves as a guardian of much of Cincinnati's past. In 1995, the Board of Trustees established the Spring Grove Heritage Foundation to educate the public about and promote the natural beauty and historic integrity of Spring Grove Cemetery & Arboretum in ways not normally covered by the cemetery's operations. Through the sponsorship of events, tours, workshops and seminars, the Foundation serves to promote Spring Grove's cultural, historic, and natural resources. Often referred to as a "museum without walls," Spring Grove possesses fine art and architecture of eclectic styles as diverse as any collection. The Heritage Foundation also plays an important role in promoting the arboretum by supporting its development and display of plants, including rare or unique species, and conducting programs of horticultural education. Spring Grove's finely designed and maintained landscape continues to attract visitors to its world-class arboretum and nature sanctuary. You, too, can be a part this education effort.
